Where to stay in Altea: three boutique hotels to know
The best hotel in Altea for your trip depends on what you want to come back to at the end of the day: a room full of historic character, a view across the Mediterranean, or a private terrace. This guide introduces our three Santas Collection hotels—Maison Salva, Santa Barbara and Las Torres—and explains the differences that can help you choose. It is a guide to our own collection, with practical room details to match each stay to your plans.
A quick guide to the three hotels
- Maison Salva: for the charm of a restored historic building and a choice that includes a Duplex King + Sofa for up to four guests.
- Santa Barbara: for choosing between Old Town and sea views, with balcony and private terrace categories.
- Las Torres: for four distinct suite categories, including a private tower room or sea-view terraces in selected suites.
Start with the feature that matters most to you, then compare the room categories. A hotel name alone will not tell you whether the room you are reserving has a balcony, a terrace or a particular view.
Maison Salva: a stay with historic character
Maison Salva is a good place to begin if the appeal of Altea is its historic atmosphere. The restored building brings its original character into a contemporary setting. Choose it when you want the place you stay to feel connected to the town, with the comfort of a thoughtfully designed room.

The room choices include King, Queen and King Deluxe categories for up to two guests. If you are travelling as four, look specifically at the Duplex King + Sofa: it combines a King bed with a mezzanine containing a sofa bed. That layout makes it a useful option for sharing one accommodation while keeping the sleeping areas on different levels. Check the photographs and layout before selecting your category.

Santa Barbara: choose the view that suits you
At Santa Barbara, the main choice is between the atmosphere of the Old Town and the openness of a sea view. Queen and King Old Town rooms look towards Altea’s historic streets. The King Sea View category offers a different perspective, with the Mediterranean taking centre stage. These room categories accommodate up to two guests.

If spending time outside is part of your ideal stay, compare the balcony and terrace options. The King Balcony Sea View rooms measure 21–24 m². The King Terrace Sea View category has a private terrace. Both suit travellers who want an outdoor space as part of their room, but they offer different layouts. Reserve the category that names the feature you want, rather than assuming every sea-view room includes it.

Las Torres: suites with a distinctive setting
Las Torres offers four suite categories, all with a King bed measuring 180 × 200 cm. The Suite Old Town View measures 33 m² and looks towards the historic town. The other three categories measure 28 m², with different features that make each one worth considering on its own terms.

The Suite Las Torres Sea View includes a private tower room on the upper floor, with views of the sea and Old Town. The Suite Terrace Sea View has a private terrace with outdoor seating. The Suite Big Terrace Sea View offers a larger private terrace with a Balinese daybed. The tower room belongs to its specific suite category; the private terraces belong to theirs. This distinction matters when choosing the experience you have in mind.

Four questions to ask before choosing your hotel
Which hotel should we choose for a stay for two?
For a stay for two, start with your preferred atmosphere: Maison Salva for the charm of its restored building, Santa Barbara for the choice of Old Town or sea views, or Las Torres for its suite layouts. Then choose the room category and check availability for your dates.
Which room can accommodate four guests?
The Duplex King + Sofa at Maison Salva accommodates up to four guests. The other Maison Salva and Santa Barbara categories accommodate up to two. If you need several rooms, tell us the number of guests and your preferred arrangement so we can help you compare options.
Does a sea-view room always include a terrace?
No. The view and the outdoor space are separate features. At Santa Barbara, select the Balcony or Terrace category if that is what you want. At Las Torres, select one of the two terrace suite categories for a private outdoor space, or the Las Torres suite for the private tower room.
Can we organise a celebration and stay across the collection?
The Las Torres bar terrace can host events for up to around 100 people. Across our three hotels, we can accommodate up to 50 guests, subject to availability. These are separate event and accommodation capacities. Contact us to discuss your guest list, dates and room needs for a birthday, a pre-wedding gathering or another private occasion.

Make the stay your own
Your room is only part of the trip. Leave time to explore Altea’s Old Town and its seafront, then return to the setting you have chosen. Bar Lounge Las Torres also welcomes visitors who are not staying at the hotel, so you can include the terrace in your plans whichever of our three addresses you choose.
